I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. I pay my respects to them and their cultures, to the Elders past, present, and emerging. I write this from Noongar Whadjuk Boodjar and acknowledge the Traditional Owners of this Country where I reside.
As many people around the world are aware, BIPOC (Black/Indigenous People of Colour) need our support. Our fellow human beings have been oppressed and suffering for centuries and the documented murder of George Floyd has brought to light the need for white people to speak out against these anti-racist acts. Not just now, but into the future. As a white person I acknowledge my white privilege and pledge to continue to educate myself and those around me and to be actively anti-racist.
As a starting point I wanted to share some beauty brands that are owned by Indigenous Australians. This list has been growing since June last year and as soon as I find out about a new brand I add it to the list. Please check back in regularly to see new additions.
I hope to see support for these brands grow and grow.
