Lisa Eldridge is a legend in the make up artistry and editorial world and she really needs no introduction. She is the epitome of chic sophistication and her lipstick launches have been nothing less. Unfortunately I missed out on her Plush True Velvet lipsticks last year but they are relaunching very soon and I am waiting with my finger on the mouse button ready to add to cart. A couple of weeks ago, she launched two brand new formulations in 4 shades and I snapped up two! They have since sold out, so I’m sorry this review is coming after the fact but she is relaunching some of them soon. Pre orders are open on the 24th July with stock being shipped on the 29th July.
I picked up shade Go Lightly in the Luxuriously Lucent formula which is the sheerer of the two. The colour is described as a vibrant salmon pink semi-sheer. I would say it is very sheer but can be built up a little bit. I feel like this shade will be perfect in the summer. I felt it was a little bit too pale for me in our current winter unless I wore extra bronzer or self tan. It’s a beautiful formulation, extremely hydrating, silky in texture and comfortable to wear. It reminds me of a shade that Audrey Hepburn may have worn but a modernised version. This formula is 100% vegan and all of Lisa’s products are also 100% cruelty free.
Onto my favourite colour and that is the Rainbow Spill in the Insanely Saturated formula and oh boy, it really packs a punch. It is such a bright watermelon pink but with a bit of a neon vibe. It’s not garish at all, I mean you would never usually find me rocking such a bright lip but this is just gorgeous and I love the semi matte finish. It is completely opaque which makes application very easy and it lasts really well. I wore it all day on a beer tasting tour and I only had to re touch it a couple of times after all of that drinking. I really love this creamy formula and light weight feel on the lips. Not at all drying and I am regretting not getting the other colour in this formula! Just a note, this formulation is not vegan.
Lisa has a fantastic YouTube channel where she discusses each colour in detail so if you’re keen to watch her beautiful face and soothing voice head over to this link. She is donating 100% of the YouTube advertising revenue to charity which is so cool. Overall, the Rainbow Spill shade and formula is my favourite and it looks great with a toned down make up look.
Will you be trying any of her lipsticks? I can’t wait to get my hands on the velvet reds! Post in the comments below or email me and connect with me on Instagram. To listen to the latest Fluke podcast, please visit iTunes.
