I get very excited when talking about serums because I truly feel that they make the most difference to my skin in the long term. Ask me where you should invest most of your beauty dollars, and I would say serums. Elixseri take the definition of serum up a notch with their innovative formulas and approach to the “serum system”.
I completed a skincare questionnaire which was sent to the Elixseri team who then came up with the best serum repertoire for me. You can stick to just one serum to address your biggest skin concern or opt for a system. My main concern was dehydration so Rescue Diver was the best choice for me, but the team also kindly sent me generous samples of their other products. There are five serums in total including:
Rescue Diver – multi-level hydration cell plumping infusion
Opening Act – overnight resurfacing skin renewal
Smooth Player – line smoothing skin radiance serum
Firm Conviction – lifting, contouring and shaping serum
Skin Meditation – stress neutralising cellular energy
The founders of Elixseri are three women – Alicia, Faiza and Marina. They all offer an amazing wealth of experience with Alicia and Faiza having worked in the beauty industry for over two decades at brands such as La Prairie, Givenchy and YSL. Marina is a certified beautician and brings a practical eye to the brand by making sure that the products meet the needs of their customers. Behind these three amazing women are a group of scientists and doctors that call themselves the “Serum Experts”. All in all, a world class team stands behind the brand and the efficacy claims of their products.
There is a heck of a lot of science behind the products and ingredients and I’m not going to go too deep into it in this blog post. Overall, their philosophy is about using nature’s survivalist plant and marine organisms that survive in harsh conditions and are highly compatible with the biology of our own skin.
Elixseri use active natural ingredients that mimic the skin’s processes, act in synergy with the skin and offer skin microbiome balancing through the use of prebiotics.
There is a lot more information on their website which is very interesting to read if you like science!
I’m going to focus my review on Rescue Diver and Opening Act as I have used them together over a 4 week period. Both of the serums are delivered in a light, silky gel formula and feel beautiful on the skin. They have a cooling effect and a refreshing scent, which Faiza explained is a combination of fermented fruits and a tiny percentage of synthetic fragrance which is designed to evaporate quickly.
Rescue Diver is designed to provide a boost of hydration on multiple levels whilst improving skin tone and elasticity. The list of benefits is endless but I’m here to let you know how my skin responded. I used Rescue Diver in conjunction with Opening Act in the first couple of weeks of use. Opening Act helped to resurface my skin to allow its hydrating counterpart to work its magic. I’m pleased that I was able to notice a visible difference in my skin. There is an added glow and plumpness that wasn’t there before and thanks to Opening Act I believe this has been improved even more.
The fragrance is a little strong so I keep it away from my eye area as I find it can sting my eyes as it evaporates. This is not a deal breaker and I believe that the efficacy and strength of the product far outweigh any fragrance issues. I am really looking forward to diving deeper into the collection and trying the other 3 serums in the range. Thank you to Elixseri for gifting me the products to try. In Australia, the brand is available at Net-A-Porter.
