Since writing about my all time favourite mist, the Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator , I have been wanting to try some other hydrating products from the line. The Vital Balm Cream caught my eye for several reasons. Firstly, the idea of a balm and a cream marriage sounded quite innovative and secondly, the ingredients list looked really impressive. The fact that it gets the tick of approval from Caroline Hirons was enough to push me over the edge.
Let’s talk about the texture, and the name really says it all here. It’s not quite a cream, its not quite a balm and it has an almost whipped consistency that is rich but not overly greasy. It melts really nicely into the skin and it has a blueish hue thanks to blue tansy. The scent is fresh and natural, and combining it with the Hydrating Accelerator is something heavenly that you have to experience for yourself. It is recommended for normal to dry, dehydrated, and sensitive skin. If you have oily skin or pores that like to clog up, it’s best that you try a sample first. I do suffer from clogged pores in summer so it will be interesting to see if my skin likes it during the warm seasons. A little goes a long way and as a result the 22ml jar has lasted me for just over 6 months which I think is pretty great. I only use it at night time as it’s a bit too heavy for me during the day.
The Vital Balm Cream is packaged in a minimalist white jar and it comes in two sizes, as many of Josh’s products do. When it comes to ingredients, the key players are Aloe Vera Juice, Mango Seed Butter, Honey and Indian Senna Seed Extract (Botanical Hyaluronic Acid). Supported by a strong cast of botanical oils and extracts such as the less common broccoli seed oil, fenugreek, chickweed, raspberry leaf and goji berry. This is only a small sample of the natural ingredients that feature in this delectable cream. I love that it contains a botanical version of hyaluronic acid which helps the skin retain moisture and gives an overall plumping effect.
Quite simply, my skin has been loving the Vital Balm Cream. I can see an instant hit of hydration and the next morning my face feels smooth and plumped up. Aside from the skincare benefits, this is a product that I just really look forward to using. I enjoy the whole experience from the texture to the scent and the feel on the skin. It finishes off my skincare routine so nicely and I’m definitely going to invest in the larger jar once I run out.
I purchased this product from I Am Natural Store and it is available at many other good natural skincare retailers. The next ones on my radar are the Advanced Hydration Mask, Active Enzyme Exfoliator and Hydration Boost Concentrate which is a new addition to the line and should be coming out very soon. I hope you enjoyed my review of another lovely Josh Rosebrook product.
