The benefits of using a natural deodorant are well known. They allow your body to sweat as it’s meant to and it’s actually good for your pits. Yes, armpits need care too! Econique kindly sent me the Mr. Pitts Woman Natural Deodorant Paste and WooHoo Body Urban All Natural Deodorant Paste to test out and compare and I’m going to use the same scoring system as I did in my previous blog post so that you can compare all of them equally.

There’s a lot to get through so let’s get started.

Mr. Pitts Natural Deodorant Paste – Woman

Mr Pitts Natural Deodorant Paste Woman.jpg

Mr. Pitts are an Australian brand that have two deodorants in their range; one for men and one for women. I could be wrong but from what I can tell by looking at the ingredients, they contain different essential oils but the basic formula is the same.

Smell: It has an fragrant scent that I can’t quite put my finger on, but I like it. It’s very fresh and a little bit minty.

Texture: It has almost a whipped consistency and it’s the softer formula out of the two. This makes it more susceptible to melting so keep it in a cool place. The plus side is that it’s really easy to scoop out of the tub to apply.

Pong Factor: 3/5. On a regular work day this left me a little bit stinky to be honest. I still use it but when I know I’m going to be at home or in an air conditioned place.

Size: 70g in a plastic tub.

Ingredients: Cold Pressed Virgin Cocos Nucifera (coconut) oil*, Unrefined Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Sodium Bicarbonate, Maranta Arundinacea Root (Arrowroot) flour*, Kaolin Clay, Cold Pressed Tea Seed Oil*, Vegetable Glycerin*, Vitamin E, Essential Oils: Cedarwood*, Peppermint*, Lavender*, Clove, Rose Geranium, Cajaput*, Grapefruit*, Ylang Ylang, Orange*, Mandarin*.

WooHoo Body All Natural Deodorant Paste, Urban

WooHoo All Natural Deodorant Paste Urban.jpg

WooHoo Body are an Australian brand as well, based in New South Wales and run by husband and wife team Aaron and Phoebe. There are three deodorants in their range. Mellow is for sensitive types, Wild which is extra strength and Urban which is the one I’m reviewing today.

Smell: With fresh, clean and citrus notes, this is definitely a unisex scent.

Texture: It’s just creamy enough, warms up easily and applies like a dream. You don’t really need to use the spatula that comes with it as it is easy to get out of the tub with your fingers.

Pong Factor: 1/5. It’s not 100% full proof for me but it’s pretty darn close. To be fair I have been using the Erica Brooke high strength deodorant so the bar was set high.

Size: 70g in a brightly coloured plastic tub. I really like their packaging as it’s easy to find in my crowded beauty cupboard.

Ingredients: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Manihot Esculenta (Tapioca) Root Starch, Sodium Bicarbonate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Kaolin Clay, Isoamyl Laurate, Euphorbia Cerifera Cera (Candelilla) Wax, Triethyl Citrate, Zinc Oxide, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Wood (Cedarwood Atlas) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Cymbopogon Martini (Palmarosa) Oil, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Oil and Vanilla planifolia (Vanilla) Extract

Vegan? Yes

Cost: AUD$17.95

The Verdict

My favourite of the two is definitely the WooHoo Body Urban All Natural Deodorant Paste. I like that it’s creamy and neutralises the odour better than Mr. Pitts. Although it missed out on top spot (held by Erica Brooke’s High Strength deodorant) by 1 point I have a feeling that the Wild one will be just as good.

I hope you enjoyed this comparison and gave you some inspiration if you are thinking about switching to natural deodorants.  Make sure to check out my other blog post for 3 other deodorant reviews. 1. I actually have tried a couple of different creams including Woohoo, which unfortunately did leave me with nasty rashes 🙁. My friend has used Mr Pitts and says it’s great with no irritation. I might give it a go because I really dislike using antiperspirants.
