This is a blog post that I have been very excited to share with you. For the past two months I have been putting the Plume Science Lash & Brow Enhancing Serum to the test and now I can finally share the results of my experiment!
Plume Science is a Canadian company, headed by Lauren Bilon and her story is quite amazing. Lauren experienced serious hair and eyelash loss after her first pregnancy and whilst a pharmaceutical product helped her to grow them back it also caused her to suffer from side effects that were nothing short of terrifying. She was inspired to create a growth stimulating product with natural ingredients so with the help of an organic cosmetics formulator she created the Lash & Brow Enhancing Serum. Recently, she also launched the Nourish & Define Brow Pomade (vegan friendly) which helps to promote growth at the same time as defining and filling in your eyebrows.
Plume Science products are 100% natural, cruelty free and they also offer a 100% money back guarantee so they are clearly very confident that the products work. The serum contains ingredients such as aloe vera juice, castor oil, vitamin E, watercress and indian cress extracts which combined, have three key benefits:
- Keeps the hairs in the growth phase for longer.
- Decreases hair loss.
- Increases hair volume and thickness.
So let’s cut to the chase. Did it do all of the above?
Yes, yes it did.
I used it once to twice a day and coated my eyebrow hairs and the skin underneath as well as my upper eyelash line. To coat the lower lash line I would just blink a couple of times to get some product down there. The applicator looks like a liquid eyeliner brush which I found precise and easy to use and I never experienced eye stinging or sensitivity with the serum. I admit I forgot to use it every now and then so my tip is to keep it on your bathroom counter next to your toothbrush so that you don’t forget to use it.
Now for the fun part, the before and after photos.
I was pretty happy with the length of my lashes but there were a few things that I was hoping this serum would improve, and it did.
- Increased length of lashes in the outer corners of both eyes.
- General increase in the density of lashes to both eyes.
- The bald patch I had has filled out.
Overall I am really pleased with what the serum has done for my lashes. The difference in my case is not huge, but, I can see it on the photos and I notice it when I’m applying mascara as I’m getting much more length and volume.
In the interest of full disclosure, the before photo was taken about 3 weeks after eyebrow shaping and tinting. To give the after photo a fair chance I applied a very light coat of a tinted eyebrow gel. In the period between the photos I did not have any shaping or tinting done, which is why they appear quite unruly in the after photo. It’s hard to tell whether the growth was from the pure fact that I haven’t had my eyebrows waxed, or whether the serum contributed. I’ll take a guess and say it’s a little bit of both.
- The area under the arches seems to have filled out a little bit.
- General increase in the thickness of my brows.
- Unrelated to the eyebrows, but check out the difference in the lashes!
I am really happy with the serum and I think the results speak for themselves. The only downside I can think of is the cost. It’s AUD$105 from Beautiful Because which is high, but when compared to a similar product with synthetic ingredients, it’s actually more affordable (and probably safer for your eyes too). One tube lasted approximately 8 – 10 weeks. I’m keen to try the brow pomade next to see how it maintains the results.
I hope you enjoyed my review of the Plume Science Lash & Brow Enhancing Serum. Please do let me know if you try it and what you think of it. Leave a comment below, email me or connect with me on Instagram and Facebook.
