When I open the 3rd bottle of any product, I know that it’s something worth sharing. If you are a fan of the dewy look, then read on to see how you can add a little bit of glow into your makeup routine while helping your skin at the same time.
I continue to be impressed by the innovation coming out of the natural beauty industry and New Mexico’s Vapour Organic Beauty is no exception. The Stratus Soft Focus Skin Perfecting Primer is 100% natural, cruelty free and made using wind power (Australia, we need to catch up to the rest of the world). Their other sustainability initiatives include waterless formulations, passive solar and the use of post-consumer recycled paper for their product boxes.
Environmental pioneering aside, this primer is a great example of a skincare and makeup fusion.
It contains nourishing anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients, the top two being camellia oil and sunflower oil. This pairing, along with tomato leaf extract, elderberry, and myrrh, will help to reduce inflammation, perfect for those suffering from redness and rosacea.
Don’t be afraid of the oil content because it is balanced with sebum controlling and acne fighting ingredients such as frankincense, holy basil and lotus leaf extracts which will work well for those with combination and oily skins. It is recommended for all skin types but they do also have an equivalent product in stick form which would be more suitable for very dry and mature skins.
Packaged in a recyclable pump bottle, one pump dispenses the perfect amount. Straight out of the bottle it looks milky white and has a pleasant, natural scent. Vapour Organic Beauty don’t use synthetic fragrances so what you are smelling is the delicious cocktail of ingredients.
I apply it before my foundation and I’m instantly left with a healthy, natural and dewy complexion. It leaves my face feeling so smooth and soft and it sets to a satin finish without a trace of glitter or shimmer. No disco ball effect, I promise, just a lit from within glow. I use shade s902 which has a pink to neutral undertone but it also comes in shade s903 for medium to olive skin tones or s904 which is said to colour balance sallowness.
This is one of those great multi tasking products because you can wear it under foundation, on its own if you are going make up free, mix it with tinted moisturiser or use it as a highlight over the top of make up. I can’t say that it makes my foundation last any longer but it certainly evens out the texture of my skin, blurs imperfections and allows make up to apply smoothly over the top.
Stratus Soft Focus Skin Perfecting Primer is a stand out product for me because it’s an extension of skincare, providing immediate results and long term benefits. It’s available online at Nourished Life and whilst there are other online retailers that carry Vapour Organic Beauty products, the primer seems to be significantly cheaper at Nourished Life.
